I have some great news faithful readers, Beth and I got married yesterday! Just the two of us, on Seal Rock Beach along 17-Mile Drive.
We’re treating ourselves to three nights at The Lodge at Pebble which has already exceeded our expectations. Word spreads fast here and everywhere we go the staff congratulates us.
It was the greatest day of my life and I couldn’t be happier to be spending my life with the woman of my dreams. It was so nice to have a relaxed wedding day doing exactly what we wanted to be doing. Here’s the rough sequence of events for our day:
5:40am – Wake up
6:05am – Leisurely breakfast at The Gallery
7:15am – Meet with our caddie, Rocket, who has caddied at Pebble Beach for 39 years.
7:30am – First group of the day to tee off Pebble Beach, as a two-ball, on a perfectly calm morning.
7:55am – Made my first of three front nine birdies on the par 5 2nd hole.
8:55am – Finished making consecutive birdies on the 6th and 7th holes (sorry but I had to brag!)
11:00am – Standing on the 18th tee of Pebble Beach wondering how life could possibly get better.
12:00pm – Relaxing in the sun on the patio of The Bench, eating a leisurely lunch, enjoying a drink and reminiscing about our round.
1:30pm – Beth popped over to the spa, and I kicked back and snoozed for a while.
3:15pm – Showered and dressed
4:30pm – We’re hitched! Having a few photos taken on the beach
5:30pm – Back at the room popping a bottle of champagne (courtesy of Pebble), and starting to call friends and family.
7:30pm – Back to The Bench for a dinner reservation and an enjoyable evening. They really treated us first class! And thanks to my Dad for calling the resort and sneakily picking up the tab and having a card delivered to our table. A very pleasant surprise.
This morning we’re enjoying some room service, and sipping tea on our balcony while watching people tee off the 1st tee of Pebble Beach. I’ve never seen so many nervous and fidgety golfers before! Pebble Beach.
At noon we’re teeing off at Spyglass Hill, another gem of a course, and another gem of a day coming our way.
Here are a few more pictures from the day:
